Teaching the Sketches

I apologize for not posting yesterday. I had a massive project due for class and I ended up taking the entire day working on it. So, I did an extra little sketch to make up for it. Since I was doing class work and learning, I thought it would be good to have one that also deals with learning. Although, this is more reflective of teaching as today we show a very young Christ teaching in the temple as his parents find him.

Walking on Sketches

Today’s Sketch Bible post of of Jesus walking on water. Peter goes out and walks on water towards Christ, and as soon as he loses focus and looks down, he begins to sink. This is always a great analogy for our life and how it must be focused on Christ at all times, or we too, will drown in life-not literally.

Thanks to the awesome Colleen “Mama” Ruby for the suggestion!

Check out a full colored version after the jump!

Let The Sketches Come – Bonus!

Here is a bonus of today’s Sketch Bible picture. I did the standard colorization of the image for those of you who like colors over black and white. Enjoy.

Let The Sketches Come

Since today is Pro-Life Monday here in the US, I figured today’s daily doodle for Sketch Bible should pertain to that as well. As thousands gather in Washington D.C. to rally for Pro-Life issues, we remember the word of Dr. Seuss’ Horton when he said “A person’s a person no matter how small.” In honor of this, I figured the perfect passage to sketch would be when the apostles tried to keep people from crowding Christ as he taught and prayed. However, seeing this, Jesus turned to them and said, “Let the children come to me.”

The Sketch of Samson

Here is the strength of Samson. His body is very weirdly shaped and needs work. Oh well, just a sketch. His hair is really messy which works into the fact it was haphazardly cut while he was sleeping.

The Fiery Sketch

Here is today’s sketch bible doodle. It is of the three men in the fiery furnace. I have a colored and waterpaint style version after the break, so check it out. I’m also looking to hear from you all about these sketches. Do you want to see them all colored, or just keep going with the sketch in black and white?

Noah and the Sketch

Today’s sketch for the Sketch Bible is the tale of Noah and the ark. Some of the details are lost in the size and thickness of the lines (especially the olive branch).

Cast The First Sketch

Here is today’s Sketch Bible doodle.  It is of the adulterous woman about to be stoned and Christ tells the crowd “Let the one amongst you without sin cast the first stone.” Pretty popular, most of you know it. I think I’ve got the style down for drawing males, but the woman could use some help (ha ha, she’s about to get stoned so she actually needs help… hahaha.. [I apologize for that last comment. The writer of it has been banned from writing jokes on here in the future].) in her style and design. Hopefully we’ll get that fixed soon.

Parting Of The Sketch Sea

Here is today’s daily biblical doodle. Good old Moses and the parting of the sea. (odd, two in a row regarding a large amount of water…)
